How the list is built
Value is our projected DraftKings points, times the chance the player suits up, divided by his salary, per $1,000. A player makes the list when his chance to play is at least 80% and his projected minutes are at least 15, and his name matches exactly one row in both our projections and the DraftKings salary file. The list is the top 10 by value.
Chance to play uses the DraftKings status tag and the injury reports we can read, so a player listed Questionable or worse is discounted or left off. News that lands after the list freezes is not in it, which is why the record below is graded on the frozen list.
How past lists did
No graded lists yet. Each list is frozen about an hour before tip, then graded against the final box scores, misses included. The first one goes up after tonight’s games.
What counts as a hit. A listed player is a hit when he scores at least 5 DraftKings points per $1,000 of salary (5x). A player who does not play scores 0 and is a miss. Every player on every frozen list is counted, and the rest of the pool is everyone else who met the same rules that night.
